How to Get Rid of Limescale?
If your appliance is having a hard build-up of limescale, you don’t need to worry. It’s not bad for the health of you or your children. However, it can inevitably affect the proper functioning of your electric boiler. Thus, it is recommended to get rid of limescale from time to time.

Quick Cleaning of the Water Boiler
Even if you don’t clean thoroughly, it is advisable to clean the boiler often using citric acid and water.
Step 1: Take one liter of water and add two tablespoons of citric acid. Stir to dissolve.
Step 2: Pour mixture into your empty Zojirushi boiler.
Step 3: Add water if it still has space. Close the lid and turn on the boiler.
Step 4: Press the ‘Reboil’ button for three to five seconds to activate the descaling mode.
Step 5: Once you know that the water is boiling, open the lid.
Step 6: Start whipping the interior using a wooden spatula. It will remove the scum from the sides.
Step 7: Dispose of the water from the spout. (Find the label, ‘Empty from here’)
Step 8: Wipe the interior using a clean kitchen towel.
Note: If you don’t like the smell of citric acid, then boil one cup of freshwater into the pot after completing the cleaning cycle. Allow it to cool down and then dispense it. You can repeat this process until you are fully convinced that there is no smell of citric acid left in the Zojirushi water boiler.
